Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her stage name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. In the following year, her music was played around Dreamville. The news was released on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February the video music for this track debuted. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
